| Is Xanga in or out these days? I suppose I could move on to the latest and greatest thing, but what would be the point. I'd have to learn a whole new format and this one works just fine. Plus, I'm getting hits from all over the world and I think that's cool, although I don't think my life is interesting enough to keep them coming back. So for the two or three who do, I'll try to update more frequently.
Things I'm loving right now:
1. Netflix-My serious savior during the frigid winter months. I watched a million documentaries this winter. Some great, some terrible. My favs include David Sutherland's Country Boys about an alternative school in Eastern Kentucky (serious hill country), The Farmer's Wife also by Sutherland about a struggling farm family in Nebraska, and Maxed Out about credit card debt. 2. Mexico-Another winter savior. Seriously THE best decision ever to go to Mexico in January. It was the perfect trip too. No travel issues, fun people, awesome weather, lots of swimming (my favorite). Take me back!
3. My house- I feel like I'm over the "i'm a new homeowner" hump which is an interesting feeling. I still have work to do on it, but I feel like the majority of it I've finished. How do I KNOW I'm over the hump? I was sitting in my living room last night and was thinking I should change the wall color. Don't worry, I squashed that one real quick. Plus my homestead credit kicked in this year so my monthly payment went down. ZING!
4. Music-It has been a long time since I've been excited about music. Hello! There are tons of new artists out there that are amazing. To name a few, Yael Naim, Sara Bareilles, The Weepies, Glen Hansard. Check these people out. I'm serious. Things that I'm not loving right now:
1. Weather: It started snowing again this morning. It's seriously almost April. We're 10 degrees below the normal average. 10 DEGREES. I'm not bitter or anything. I secretly think I'm being punished for missing last winter while I was in Spain. Hurry up Spring!
2. Boxes of random stuff: I've been cleaning out closets and storage rooms for the last week at my house. Spring Cleaning they call it. So last weekend I started going thru all these rubbermaid tubs I have stored in the closet of one of the bedrooms I use as a storage room. I have yet to figure out the logic behind what is stored in these boxes. Random stuff that doesn't even belong. I must have been half asleep when I packed these boxes. Most of the stuff I don't even need or want. Some stuff I have no idea where it came from. I must lead a secret clepto life or something. Oh, and I have like 8 boxes of costumes. I seriously need a life.
3. The price of gas: Okay I hate to jump on the gas bandwagon but seriously, come on! It cost me over $60 to fill my gas tank last Friday. I realize I drive a Pathfinder but still. Gas should not be on the brink of $4 a gallon. I should just give in and buy a moped. Don't run over me if you see me driving one this summer!
So there it is. An update of sorts on the life of me. Like I said earlier, I'll try to update this thing a little more. I'm not prepared to move to another blog space so I guess you're stuck with me.

Last month I was here.
Yesterday it snowed 10 inches.
There is something terribly wrong with that. | | |
| So I never update this thing. I realize that.
I have a confession to make. I've been cheating on Xanga...with Facebook. I was really reluctant to even get a Facebook. One more thing, ya know? About 7 months ago I gave in to the pressures. At first it was really hard to navigate, but now I love it. It's cool because a lot of the people I met in Spain have facebooks too so I can keep in contact with them a lot easier. Not to mention I found some old friends from Grace that I haven't talked to since we graduated. Everyone should get a Facebook. It's the new thing until the next thing comes.
I feel like I really don't have an update on my life right now. Things have been going along pretty normally lately. I get up, go to work, come home, go to sleep, and do it all over the next day. Pretty mundane sounding, but it's actually pretty nice. I'd rather steer clear of the drama. Speaking of drama, I'm working on a church Christmas show right now. It's just a low key Cantata basically but it's pretty fun to work on. This winter I'll be working on an outreach dinner theatre piece called Uncle Phil's Diner. I'm pretty excited about that. I'm playing Mama. The old woman who owns the joint. I'm thinking Vicki Lawrence in Mama's Family for my inspiration. Anyway that starts in January, which crazily is coming up in only a couple of months. I don't know if I'm ready for winter...even after I skipped last winter by being in Spain. Well that's all the update I have time for right now. It's kind of a busy day.
Hope you all are well.

| Is anyone planning on coming into town for homecoming (Nov. 2-4)? Our class reunion dinner (class of 02) is going to be this year because we're old now and we've been out for five years. Just curious if anyone is planning to attend. Basically I don't want to be sitting at a table by myself!
It's strange to drive by campus these days. Things have changed so much and yet they haven't. It still feels like that place we spent four years together. I'm sure Philathea still has that weird smell. I haven't been to the Little Theatre in a long time but in my mind it's still the coolest space for theatre. There are new additions now. The Orthopaedic Capital Center is massive. The Rec Center is amazing and bizzare at the same time. I do go there a lot and when I see college students I think, "We had to go to the YMCA to workout! These kids are spoiled!"
Anyway if any of you 02ers are heading into town I thought might be cool to get the theatre crowd together for a hangout session. Pizza Party in the Little Theatre???? Barbeque at my house???? Let me know if you're coming into town and if you're interested.
Hope you're all are having a good week.

| I become worse at this as the months roll on.
Another Munday has come. The weeks seem to fly by. All the little kiddies start school either this week or next. I can't help but feel bummed out for them. I remember not wanting to go back to school once this time of year rolled around. Right now I'd probably kill to be back in school! LOL Things are going along as expected. I can't believe the summer is on the way out. After using all of my vacation days at the beginning of the year for my Spain trip I am suffering without them. I have to wait until January before I get all my days back. People, I can't wait for that day. I need a mental health day bad. Thank God the holidays are fastly approaching. Thank you government holidays.
Speaking of government holidays some friends and I are driving down to Kentucky to the Daniel Boone National Forest to do some hiking over Labor Day Weekend. I'm super exicited to get away for a long weekend. We're going to be hiking in the Red River Gorge area which is full of rock formations and natural bridges. It should be a great time of hanging out and getting our fill of nature. I do have to hunt a new pair of hiking shoes before I go because I had to leave mine in Spain. They weren't that great anyway.
Well it's a short update, but at least it's an update!
